Dr Chris Osa Ogiemwonyimark
Dr. Ogiemwonyi worked rose through the ranks to the zenith of his career in NNPC, starting as Petroleum Engineer II in 1975 and retiring 34 years later as Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production. He is one of the very few officials to have worked in and headed, all of NNPC's Upstream Business Units, making him a well-rounded Upstream player.
He was at various times; Group General Manager, National Petroleum Investments Management Services, Managing Director, Nigeria Petroleum Development Company and Managing Director, Nigeria Gas Company. As GGM, NAPIMS, he grew Local Content substantially and midwife key projects.
A year after his retirement, he was appointed to the Federal Executive Council as Honourable Minister of State for Works where he was responsible for construction and rehabilitation of Roads infrastructure in Nigeria.
He was at various times board member of; N-Gas, NIGERMED, NNPC, PHCN, HYSON, Council member of PTI Warri, member, Presidential Committees on IPP development and Accelerated expansion of Electricity Infrastructure.
He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, a Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers and was former president, Nigerian Gas Association. A recipient of the Justice of Peace by the Edo state government and Kwame Nkrumah Leadership Award and was awarded two honorary Doctorate degrees (Honoris Causa) by the Igbinedion University, Okada and the Edo State University, Ekpoma - a rare feat for an indigene.
Dr Ogiemwonyi bagged a B. Sc in Applied Physics with Electronics option in 1974 from the University of Benin and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering in 1976 from the University of Ibadan.
